​My passion for the ocean began on childhood walks to Hilbre Island, exploring rocky shores, discovering fascinating marine creatures and watching seals emerge from the sea. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of the natural world that led me to study marine biology in Plymouth and build a career dedicated to helping people connect with our ocean.
From founding a marine education business and working with charities and research organisations to sharing stories through books, magazines, radio and television, I have spent my career inspiring curiosity and wonder about the marine environment.
Today, I continue to encourage people of all ages to discover, appreciate and protect the natural world, fostering a deeper connection with the wildlife and wild places that enrich all our lives.
