Maya Plass
My passion for the ocean began on childhood walks to Hilbre Island, exploring rocky shores, discovering fascinating marine creatures and watching seals emerge from the sea. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of the natural world that led me to study marine biology in Plymouth and build a career dedicated to helping people connect with our ocean.
From founding a marine education business and working with charities and research organisations to sharing stories through books, magazines, radio and television, I have spent my career inspiring curiosity and wonder about the marine environment.
Today, I continue to encourage people of all ages to discover, appreciate and protect the natural world, fostering a deeper connection with the wildlife and wild places that enrich all our lives.
